Cert IV Celebrancy – complete the course before the new Celebrant fee!
Rose Training on why you should do the June Celebrancy course with us!
Legislation has recently passed in Parliament, introducing two new fees for Celebrants. The first is a $240 annual registration fee and the second is an application fee of $600 to become a celebrant. Both will become compulsory from July 1 this year. So, how can you avoid paying these two fees but still become a celebrant in 2014?
If you have yet to submit your course work for assessment, and wish to have your certificate issued to you in time to apply for registration before the introduction of the fees, your complete workbook and assessment pieces must be received no later than CoB Friday 30 May, 2014. Any submissions received after this date may not be assessed in time for you to get your application in to the Attorney General. Course work can be brought in person to Level 1, 345 Ann St, Brisbane, or posted to GPO Box 602 Brisbane 4001. To ensure that it is received in a timely manner, it is advisable to send your work by registered post.
If you are already registered as a celebrant:
Existing celebrants will incur an annual registration fee of $240. The aim of the extra charges is to support celebrants by improving services and accessibility to the department through:
- an online celebrant portal
- a dedicated phone service
- updated written information
- a regular newsletter with information and updates, and
- guidance and advice to assist you in performing your role.
